If you are a au pair you will learn everything about the culture of a country. Mostly you will live with a family so you will learn from their habits. When i was 19, i was a au pair in Paris!
It was really nice, i managed to learn french, met a lot of different other au pairs, who came from all kinds of countries, like Iceland and Mexico. It was so interesting! I don't regret it at all. It was very exciting to live in another country for 1 year.
