Some of the travelgear you could consider buying secondhand. It will save you some money, and it's often as good as brandnew stuff. Also, when you're traveling, a lot will get dirty anyway! A backpack is often quite expensive. Check with people who are back from their travel, maybe they have some medicines left over, or other travelthings you might need.
